A record crowd of around 120,000 is expected at Silverstone on Sunday for race day at the Formula One British Grand Prix 2022.
Formula One British Grand Prix 2022 is expected to attract a record crowd of around 120,000 on Sunday.
It is estimated that over the entire weekend, 400,000 people visited Northamptonshire, the UK’s home of F1 racing.
The police announced that they believed a high-profile protest was planned during one of the largest organisational events of the year.
After the race was red-flagged due to Zhou Guanyu’s crash, images of individuals on the track emerged, apparently scaling perimeter fences after the race had started.
According to journalist Helena Hicks, police arrived swiftly after the group sat down on the circuit.

It was claimed that the protest was organized by Just Stop Oil, a group that campaigns against fossil fuel usage.
This week, two members of the group glued themselves to famous paintings in art galleries, including Van Gogh’s work at the Courtauld Gallery in London and Turner’s at the Manchester Art Gallery.
Posting on Twitter on Sunday, the group said: “We demand the government calls an immediate halt to new oil and gas projects in the UK and we will continue to disrupt sports, cultural events and oil until this demand is met.”
