California Democratic state Sen. Steven Bradford threw cold water on the idea of black Californians receiving seven-figure reparations, saying that “just not happening.”
That message followed a proposal from the California Reparations Task Force to pay reparations of as much as $1.2 million to eligible black residents.
Prior to that recommendation, there were estimates that California could be on the hook for as much as $800 billion in reparations – $500 billion more than the annual state budget.
