Neuralink, the neurotechnology company founded by Elon Musk in 2016, has received approval from the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) to commence its inaugural clinical study involving human participants, as announced today.
The primary objective of Neuralink is to create a brain-computer interface known as “the link.” This innovative technology aims to enable individuals with disabilities to regain movement and communication abilities by means of a surgically implanted neural-chip implant.
Additionally, Neuralink has expressed the possibility of restoring vision through their advancements in this field. Elon Musk has been actively involved in leading this ambitious venture alongside his responsibilities as the CEO of Tesla.
