Gov. DeSantis: ‘The Fact Is, We Are No Longer In A State Of Emergency’

“The fact is, we are no longer in a state of emergency,” DeSantis said.

DeSantis was careful to note coronavirus still exists and must be dealt with case by case, but cited a significant decline in cases and deaths as reason for his order.

The governor also said that he believes vaccinated people continuing to wear masks undermines public trust in the vaccines.

“I think that’s the evidence-based thing to do,” DeSantis said.

Private businesses are still free to ask customers to wear masks or social distance if they feel the need to do so.
