On Tuesday, North Carolina Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn appeared with former President Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort, where the freshman House member picked up an important endorsement for his 2022 re-election campaign.

The announcement was made on Rep. Cawthorn’s Instagram account, where the wheelchair-bound Rep. stood up to appear with Trump.

Proud to stand with the President!
We had a great discussion about our strategy for the 2022 election, election security, and plans to empower REAL PATRIOTS.

Thanks for trusting me Mr. President! We will make this country great!

Trump Says Cawthorn Has His ‘Complete’ Endorsement

“Hello everybody,” Cawthorn welcomed. “I’m down here at Mar-a-Lago with the greatest president our country has ever had.”

Cawthorn added, introducing Trump, “I can tell you Mr. President, we have big things coming.”

Trump said, “I just want to tell you that Madison is a friend of mine. But he’s much more than that.”

The former president then gave his explicit endorsement of Cawthorn.

“He has my endorsement,” Trump declared. “He has my complete and total, as I like to say, endorsement.”

Trump added, “And he’s a very special guy and let’s back him all the way, whatever he wants to do.”

Cawthorn ended the video with what sounded like a fundraising pitch, saying, “Chip in to make sure America is first.”

Rep. Cawthorn Is An Outspoken Supporter Of Trump

During his 2020 congressional campaign and during his time in the House, Cawthorn has been an outspoken supporter of the former president.

Sometimes Cawthorn has had to pay a price his for support of Trump.

In October, the GOP congressman told Fox & Friends about his home being vandalized.

“This was back on Friday, Oct. 9, I was waking up to go take engagement photos with my fiance, which I was very excited about,” Cawthorn said.

He added, “And then I wake up to these vandals, these little punks on my driveway, you know, they were gluing some of my signs to the driveway, they were spray painting pretty not so subtle threats on to them and then they were cutting the head and neck out of out my signs all over the district.”

Cawthorn is paralyzed from a car accident in 2014.

Endorsements for Republicans in the 2022 midterms from Trump could carry significant value for the candidates the former president chooses.

Trump has so far endorsed South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster, and Idaho Senator Mike Crapo.

He also endorsed his former Press Secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, for Arkansas Governor. Sanders is the daughter of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

He has also encouraged NFL legend Herschel Walker to run for the Senate in Georgia.
