With the U.S. birth and death rates growing nearly even, the Census Bureau has revealed the shocking truth about who is supplying America’s new growth — legal and illegal immigrants.
An analysis of census figures found that 80%-90% of the country’s new population growth comes from immigrants.
The new numbers reviewed by the Center for Immigration Studies showed that the population of the United States last year was 333 million, up 1.2 million from 2021.
The census found that migration contributed a bit over 1 million to the U.S. population growth — or 80% of 1.2 million.
But in its review, CIS said the raw data does not account for all of the immigration trends affecting the country, from illegal crossings to exact numbers of newborns by new immigrants in the U.S.
