The United States has officially evacuated Afghanistan after 20 years of military occupation. What is appalling about this evacuation is that the U.S. government just left billions in taxpayer-funded military equipment behind in Afghanistan, which is now in the hands of the Taliban.
The Times of London reports that the arsenal of military equipment and weapons includes: “up to 22,174 Humvee vehicles, nearly 1,000 armored vehicles, 64,363 machine guns, and 42,000 pick-up trucks and SUVs. So, too, the list of allegedly abandoned weaponry includes up to 358,530 assault rifles, 126,295 pistols, and nearly 200 artillery units.”
A video has surfaced showing the Taliban parading entire fleets of U.S. armored vehicles and aircraft.
We better hope the U.S. arsenal left behind is not used against us in the future. This is what failure looks like.
