“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”

-From John Adams to Massachusetts Militia, 11 October 1798

The framework and supreme law of our land that establishes our government, the United States Constitution, is only meant for the people who give themselves over to the Highest authority. Only through acknowledging our Creator under the oath taken in each branch of government under God should those powers be exercised to manifest the will of the people.

Key Takeaways

  • The dangers of subjective moral reasoning as a result of forsaking our Creator that manifests in abortion, the murder of millions.
  • Understanding America does not force Christianity upon its citizens but acknowledges our Creator as moral and religious guidance for all society.
  • The horrors of when the will of the party overtakes the will of a nation and man-made issues of racial warfare manifest.

Consequences of Subjective Moral Reasoning

George Washington in his farewell address in 1796 wrote considerably but made a striking statement in particular, “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.” In the United States today there is considerable degradation of the indispensable supports of moral and religious conviction. There are parties, factions, and political forces that seek to operate outside of any moral and religious compass. They seek to impose various forms of subjective moral reasoning upon the nation.

If not the most contested topic, one example is the matter of abortion. Primarily we have one political party, though albeit along with other forces, that has perpetuated this evil in our land.

The fundamental thing to understand about abortion is that the pro-argument dehumanizes other human beings (babies) to justify the position of killing them. These are the same tactics used by Hitler and the Nazis to dehumanize the Jews. He used a process over years that influenced a nation that the Jews were Untermenschen or subhumans. When a woman finds out she is pregnant and goes to her husband to relay the good news, do they celebrate and rejoice they are having a “fetus”? No. They celebrate the conception of life, another human being, their baby. It is only a fetus – subhuman – when it is convenient to murder.

When you have a political party that is forsaking the simple truth which was declared in our independence, “the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them”, the result is tyranny, un-sanctified mercy, injustice, evil, murder, poverty, welfare, hatred. The list goes on of things we are seeing manifest slowly year after year in greater agony in our country as we become more divided. The division being those who say there is no God, versus those who seek to submit their lives as fallible under authority to God who is infallible.

To Acknowledge God, not Force Christianity

One account of German Christians shows they would sing as loud as they could to drown out the train and screams of the Jews going by on their way to concentration camps. Much like then a lot of Christians are singing louder than ever to drown out the slaughter of millions of babies.

That is not to condemn Christians or Christianity at large as I myself claim Christianity. But a call for each person to assess their walk with God and take an honest inventory of their beliefs. Every faithful citizen must look deep in their hearts to evaluate the moral and religious implications of current times and events. If your church leader advocates for abortion will you stand up and defend the Truth? If your senator or congressman advocates for the murder of human beings will you stand by and continue to vote for them?

We are not founded as a “Christian nation”, if that were true then everyone would be forced to be a Christian who lived in this country. The founders knew of the religious tyranny from Britain and history beforehand. They established a system of government based on the unalienable rights given to us by our Creator that are self-evident. Don’t misunderstand me as that same government established in the Constitution derives such revelations and principles from the Christian faith of the Holy scriptures.

For which the Bible itself is full of such tyrannies in history which they drew wisdom from. They understood that all humanity is fallible and if given the chance whether through political spheres or religion the desire to rule over one another was always the danger.

Therefore our founders set up a structure that would make it as difficult as possible for that to happen through either the political or religious apparatuses. This structure is meant for those who seek the Infallible One as fallible people. This is why we swear oaths under God and seek Justice under our creator. This is why the people are to rule and the will of the people to be expressed and manifested by their representatives who are true to their convictions under God and his moral and religious truths.

Will of the Party Vs. Will of the Nation

This pattern has plagued empires, nations, people groups, for all of history. From slavery to genocides of multitudes. The dehumanizing of others, the institutions of the aristocracy, and class systems. In today’s times, it is most manifest in “race”. To perpetuate the distinctions of “race” is to make distinctions among the people that our Creator does not. Racial injustice, racial profiling, etc… Is this not what Hitler also thought? That his race was supreme and the Jews and the rest of us were again Untermenschen or subhumans?

Then why do we have a political party in which practically their whole platform has become the issue of race? Is it not a weapon wielded by those who reject our Creator, to use against those of moral and religious convictions.

To abandon our Creator is to dissent into the madness of murdering an estimated 61,628,584 babies since it became Law in 1973 in America. If Morality and Religious convictions don’t win out in the end we will have an America made in the image of those who have forsaken our Creator for the worship of nature, human reasoning, and man’s wisdom. The Constitution will eventually not be able to hold up conferring to the people the powers to rule themselves. Instead, the political parties and powers that seek rulership will decide what rights the people shall have and not have. For without the compass of our Creator why should they agree that we are all made equal under God?

I do not claim or boast to know all things, have all answers, or know better than the next. What I know is Americans who care not to see darkness and destitution overcome our land and way of life in liberty need to take personal responsibility in their hearts. The purpose being, to educate themselves on the civic issues, the history of our nation as it happened, become equipped with the practical and experiential knowledge and truth found in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution.

George Washington in his farewell address gave many warnings one being the dangers of the will of the party over the will of the nation. He concluded that “they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterward the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.”

Why This Matters

There are layers of the unseen that in part govern and in part make up the sums of the totality of who are as individuals. What am I walking about? I’m talking about mindsets, what spirit we are of, identities, ideologies, theologies, the unseen influences, and philosophies that direct our thinking which in turn direct the way we feel, act, and behave.

Republican, father, friend, teacher, democrat, Christian, farmer, banker, son, independent, perhaps Muslim or Buddhist, daughter, dentist, atheist, husband, writer, mother… a million others of so many roles and ways of being and thinking. Depending on so many factors of education, where you were raised, how you were raised, whom your friends were growing up, who your friends are now, and so forth.

Where am I going with all this? To make the point that everybody despite where they fall in the previous descriptions who is a legal citizen in America has one common unity. The obvious – we are all Americans – and share in the sacred bond of being a nation of one people.

As Americans, we live in liberty and freedoms most other people in history have not even dreamed or could have imagined. We have enjoyed these liberties that our founding fathers agreed were endowed to us by our Creator for 244 years. Is it a utopia? No. The founding fathers understood one thing, that all governments will be fallible and fail, even ours. It is why they devised such a constitution and system of government to make it as difficult as possible to infringe upon such freedoms and liberties to be enjoyed by the people.

This brings me to the point that if we let things continue as they currently are in our nation we risk losing our founding. The constitution yes, can be amended, but the process is very difficult and not easy. The purpose being is our government is not meant to change or function much differently than when it was birthed. As an American, it should matter to the individual that with the erosion of our culture and society into moral abandon we risk losing our liberties and freedoms. The religious and moral decay and decline will bring about the justifications the will of the party has over the will of the nation to remake America as they see fit.

It matters because as Americans living in peace in our country for so long we don’t know what persecution is. We don’t know what suppression and real communism are. Living in peace for so long generations are growing up without a sense of urgency to defend our liberties, our morals, our religious humility.
It matters because as an American I would pray and hope you would want your children and their children to never have an abortion. To never see through the lens of race. To think generationally about how to continue to secure the freedoms we have and to protect those freedoms in sanctity and righteousness.

To elect those who turn away from the foundational morality of our Creator the very same who seek to consolidate power will only destroy what gave them the opportunity in the first place. Perhaps we must elect in mass new leaders and new movements of thought and thinking that will steer us back to our Constitution as founded and not try to subvert it’s written authority. Perhaps new parties must spring up and move us away from two dominant party’s, the republicans and democrats whose institutions have become corrupted.

I hope it matters to every reader who reads this to preserve and protect our nation as founded and reject anyone who willfully works against the people’s liberty.
