A New York City mixed martial artist and jiujitsu black belt is going viral after he turned a suspected criminal into a human rag doll.
Ro Malabanan is trained in boxing, judo, and Brazilian jiujitsu, and he used his skills to body an assailant who is accused of attacking people in Manhattan’s Soho shopping district last week, according to a report.
Malabanan, 44, was making his way to a boxing class when he saw 28-year-old Samuel Frazier punch an individual “right in front of” him.
Other people said that Frazier had assaulted them, so Malabanan ran off and found him “about a block away,” the report noted.
“My jiujitsu instincts just kicked in. I jumped on his back,” Malabanan said. “He tried to swing me off then — but for those of you in the know — a seatbelt position dragged him down to the floor, and I immediately took his back and pinned him to the ground.”
“Play stupid games, and win stupid prizes. This guy assaulted six people before I got to him,” he said.
After Frazier was pinned by Malabanan, NYPD officers arrived on the scene and arrested the alleged criminal.
Frazier had assaulted at least two others, including a 50-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy.
