The White House must have gotten some polling numbers that their response to leftist efforts to intimidate the Supreme Court, attack churches and pro-life groups wasn’t going over well. They never do anything “right” unless they’re checking their polls and that forces them around to reality. Not only didn’t they condemn such actions after the SCOTUS leak of the draft opinion, they even appeared to encourage them, casting them purely as “peaceful protest.”
BREAKING: Somebody vandalized and allegedly threw Molotov cocktails into Wisconsin Family Action’s — an anti-abortion rights group — Madison office, writing w/ graffiti, “If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either.”
The graffiti message suggests a far-left terrorism motive, particularly by antifa. They’ve already declared pro-life groups & activists to be targets of violence, with some releasing addresses on Twitter that have already been acted upon. pic.twitter.com/Uc2TZk9iU1
That’s the anarchist symbol and 1312 is another way of saying “ACAB” or “All cops are bastards.”
But now the Biden team is finally condemning the threats and violence, as well as saying that the justices should be able to do their jobs in safety. They shouldn’t have needed a firebombing or polls to do the right thing.
The White House released a statement roughly a day after an unknown assailant threw at least one Molotov cocktail into an office of Wisconsin Family Action (WFA), a pro-life activist group.
“President Biden strongly condemns this attack and political violence of any stripe. The President has made clear throughout his time in public life that Americans have the fundamental right to express themselves under the Constitution, whatever their point of view. But that expression must be peaceful and free of violence, vandalism, or attempts to intimidate,” the White House said in a statement.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki also weighed in.
.@POTUS strongly believes in the Constitutional right to protest. But that should never include violence, threats, or vandalism. Judges perform an incredibly important function in our society, and they must be able to do their jobs without concern for their personal safety.
Those are the statements they should have come out with right away, but they didn’t because they wanted to whip the left up into a frenzy so they’d get out and vote. And notice what still isn’t there — “Don’t go to the homes of the justices.” But now they’ve placed themselves between a rock and a hard place. They’re getting blasted by the folks on the right for not doing the right thing right away as they should have. It should never have been a question that they come to the defense of the Court and not countenance intimidating the justices. And the Biden team is also getting blasted by the people that they wanted to incite on the left who feel that the Biden team is caving to the right and not being strident enough.
Please, spare us the insincerity…
You were asked directly about these “protests” last week, before they happened, and you refused to condemn them.
Last week, you OK’d issuing maps to Justices’ homes (a stance you haven’t reversed). Days later, after Justices’ homes swarmed+at least one fled, you softly, meekly criticize violence. If you cared about their well-being you’d tell Biden supporters to stay away from their homes. https://t.co/1JUjVC7fBT
Yes, Keith, there has been violence, there have been threats and there has been vandalism — all after the Democrats were whipping people up. So this is right at the doorstep of the left and unfortunately, the weak response from the Biden team likely isn’t going to stop the leftists from continuing. But it may just make some of them not come out for Democrats they feel are abandoning the “fight.”
