Once upon a time, American liberals held free speech to high esteem. However, COVID-19 changed liberals views, seeing them shift hard left. Now, liberals fully embrace censorship of speech they disagree with.
Over the past several months, we’ve witnessed unpreceded censorship of speech deemed “harmful” on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, resulting in major blowback upon big tech companies.
In an virtual meeting, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki proclaimed that she recommends governments pass laws to gain more control over online speech, and elsewhere.

On August 8, 1950, in a special message to Congress on the Internal Security of the U.S., President Harry S. Truman said this about free speech:
“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear.”
